Udvada- N.M. Wadia Dharamshala

Hi Guys.... This blog is created in the memory of the Late refined soul of Mr. N. M. Wadia in setting up a rest-house in July 1912 for the tourist visiting the Holy Fire Temple here in Udvada.

Earlier it was managed by many prominent parsis of Udvada( the Dastoor clan) and at present its managed by me(Shahin. J. A. Mehershahi- Irani).

I joined in on 30th April 2009, in a condition that was in a very sorry state. it was practically shut down due to lack of management and staff. Its erected just next to the Udvada railway station which is again 8Kms from the Holy IranShah.

I took up the challenge of managing it with my experience in hotel industry. In the starting months it was very very tough for me too to handle the place because of NO staff..... but I used to sweep the floor to cooking all by myself as a challenge.

As days passed I started off with 1 staff and todate I have 6 all on 24 hours duty.

We here at the Dharamshala have 7 functional rooms. All the rooms are self-attached with English bathrooms, Netlon nets on the windows, 3 bedded rooms, 24 hrs water, hot water facility and 24 hrs power supply(3kva Su-Kam Invertor).

All this renovation was just possible with the trust and capability laid down on Me by my Trust (N.M.Wadia Charities- Bombay), the Chairman Mr. Burjor Antia, the Managing Trustees Mr.Homi. Talati, Mr. Sethna, Mr. Khushru Albless to name a few, the Secretary Mr. Naval Batliwala,  Supervising Manager Mr. Zarir Dastoor and the staff of N. M. Wadia Charities.

All my respects to the Merciful seats of these prominent and efficient seat holders in making a decent face-lift of the Dharamshala and getting it recognised again as one of the best in Udvada.

Since 1st August 2010 we have started 2 Deluxe rooms with Air-Conditioners. The rooms comprise of Air-Conditioner, 21' Colour Tv, Shower, English Toilet and Bathroom, Double-Bedded, Netlon nets, Buzzer switch, Hot water geyser, Fully renovated rooms....

The prices too are very very competetive if compared.

The Ordinary rooms are charged INR: 25/- Only

The Deluxe rooms in Non-Ac are charged INR: 150/- Only

The Deluxe rooms in AC are charged INR: 600/- Optional per room IRRESPECTIVE of the number of persons in the room.

TARIFF:
Lunch: 160/- ( One main dish with rice and non-veg gravy, Fried Boi and one side dish )

Dinner: 160/- ( One main non-veg dish with rotlis, side dish and ice-cream)

Break-fast: 50/- ( Omlette, Akuri or Fried eggs, Bread. 3 Eggs served per dish) Butter is given as part of the breakfast only in the Deluxe rooms.

The rates apply as to what you have and NO hard and fast rules of fixed pricing....

We, Here are very comfortable in our pricing and service.

We also give car on rent for the visit to the Holy Iranshah. ( Toyota Qualis Air-Conditioned for just 300/-)
